Have you dined at Local Dish yet? Local Dish is located in downtown Fort Mill in the heart of Main Street. 217 Main Street to be exact. Local Dish opened a little over a year ago. Friends have said “you just have to try their green fried tomatoes”. So Carmen, our daughter Sarah and I decided to have a lunch date and try Local Dish. We loved it!
Carmen said we know have a new “Fav”. “It’s southern cooking at its best in a quaint southern-style restaurant”. Our daughter said it’s “Pinterest ready”. I think I know what that means.
For lunch we had fried green tomatoes as our appetizer and….




Owner John Cowell in a CN2 interview said his restaurant concept supports buying local foods like fruits, breads, cider drinks, etc. Executive chef Neil Bratton’s menu is designed to serve southern style cooking for lunch and dinner. You can order sandwiches, salads, or larger En-trees like chicken pot pies, pork chops, shrimp and grits, 12 oz ribeye, or chicken and waffles to to name a few.
Their decor is relaxed and color-full. You’ll find pictures of farms and fruits?hung on clotheslines. You’ll see?fun signs saying “Laughter is the Best Dinner Music, Bless This Food, and many more. Another plus, the staff is friendly.
One tip, go earlier for lunch since the core lunch crowd seems to arrive just after 12 and the small restaurant fills up quick.
