Fort Mill Ranked in the top 15 Fastest Growing Cities

In a May 16th, 2024 press release from the US Census Bureau titled “South Continues to Lead the Way With Largest and Fastest Growth”, Fort Mill, South Carolina was ranked number 13 in the top 15 fastest growing cities. This is based on the time period beginning July 2022 to July 2023. “The population growth across the South in 2023 was driven by significant numeric and percentage gains among its cities,” said Crystal Delbé, a statistician in the Census Bureau’s Population Division. “Thirteen of the 15 fastest-growing cities were in the South, with eight in Texas alone.” Fort Mill was the only South Carolina City in the top 15.

Charlotte, North Carolina was ranked number 3 in the top 15 largest gaining cites. Fort Mill is part of the Charlotte metro and is just a few miles south of Charlotte as you cross the border into South Carolina
