Like many communities, Thanksgiving kicks off many local Christmas events. Fort Mill, Tega Cay, and surrounding communities once again have a great line up of Holiday season events for you and your family in December. Below is just a sample of what events are taken place in our wonderful community.
Nov 29th – Winter Wonderland Craft Fair, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 29, at the Anne Springs Close Greenway Dairy Barn. Handmade and include pottery, jewelry, quilts, handbags, children?s clothing, woodwork, soap, candles and gourmet foods such infused olive oils. Door prizes and candy cane hunt. Free admission. The fair will be followed by the Paws with Claus event in which visitors are invited to make holiday memories with their pet and Santa.
Dec 1st – Tega Cay Lions Club Senior Citizens Christmas Party, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at Grace Presbyterian Church on S.C. 160 West in Fort Mill. Seniors are welcomed from across York County. The Copy Cats perform a live stage show with singing and dancing. Refreshments, Bingo, and a visit from Santa round out the afternoon. Each Senior leaves with a goody bag filled with cakes, fruit and more. For more information call Janet Pritchard at 803-431-6120.
Dec 4th – The annual town of Fort Mill Christmas tree lighting, will be held in Confederate Park on Main Street at 7 p.m. Dec. 4. Enjoy caroling, treats and photos with Santa. Fort Mill?s annual parade, which begin on Tom Hall Street and works its way down Main to North White Street, begins at 11 a.m. Dec. 6. Individuals, organizations and businesses are all invited to join in with a float. The cost is $45 until Nov. 17 and $55 after. Dec 6th Fort Mill Christmas Parade beginning at 11:00 AM.?The Town of Fort Mill’s Christmas Parade features classic cars, floats, marching bands, and much more.Parade Route?Starts at Unity Presbyterian Church and?Ends at Walter Elisha Park. Here is a video of past parades.
Dec 6th -Tega Cay?s annual Christmas tree lighting, will be held 6 p.m. Dec. 6 inside the Glennon Center. Caroling, music, cookies and other refreshments. The event begins with the Tega Cay?Mayor?s address and tree lighting, including a special performance from the FMHS chorus. Then Santa Claus arrives on a fire truck. Following the ceremony, Santa will be in the Hearth Room in the lower level of the Glennon Center for pictures and to hear Christmas wishes from the younger children.
Dec 16th from 6:30 pm ? 8:30 pm at the Glennon Center Lower Level is the starting point for the 9th annual Christmas
Guided Light Tour. The Tega Cay Police Department will be driving residents around?the City to enjoy all of the lights and decorations. You are welcome?to bring a new, unwrapped toy to give for annual ?Toys for?Happiness? collection. There will be hot chocolate and cookies for?you to enjoy at the beginning or end of your tour.
