Update June 2015
Toast Cafe announced recently they are making a name change to Famous Toastery for all of their franchised locations and plans to open an Indian Land location.
Update May 14, 2014 – Late April a construction worker at the future Toast Cafe Tega Cay location told me the restaurant will open around the 1st of May. Obviously that did not happen. ?I called the Davidson NC ?Toast Cafe a they said they are shooting for an opening around May 27th.
Once their final permits are confirmed, they will send out an official opening announcement on their Facebook page.
Renovation work seems to be completed which includes an outdoor fireplace in the outside eating area in front of the restaurant.
Original Nov 2013 post – In the shuttered PDQ restaurant building, a small restaurant chain called Toast Cafe plans to open by January next year. Toast Cafe is a breakfast, lunch, brunch sit down style restaurant. There hours are 7 to 3 daily.
The first Toast Cafe opened in 2005 in Davidson , NC. There are 2 other locations. One location is in Dilworth and the other location in Ballantyne. The small chain was started by?Robert Maynard and?Brian Burchill after working as actors and musicians in New York according to a Charlotte Observer article by Ely Portillo. ??Brett Larrabee is also on board growing the Toast cafe Brand. Larrabee previously worked for Five Guys helping to grow the Five Guys brand.
I looked at the Davidson, NC location menu which features an extensive breakfast menu with eggs any style including omelets, breakfast sandwiches, toast of course and much more. For lunch their menu features wraps, sandwiches, melts, cheese burgers, salads.
Toast Cafe website says:
Toast is about experience. Extraordinary food, combined with a home style atmosphere and exceptional service.
