The ASC Greenway opened to the community in 1995, the Greenway strives to provide opportunities for recreation, education and fitness on over 2,100 acres of land in historic Fort Mill, South Carolina. The Anne Springs Close Greenway is a natural preserve more than twice the size of Central Park, minutes south of Charlotte. Its 2,100 acres serve as a natural buffer from urban development and provide a wide open space for countless activities – from hiking, biking and horseback riding to picnics, kayaking and more.
The Greenway contains native plants and animals, historic buildings, a 40 mile network of trails, a soon-to-be welcome center and facilities for weddings and other special events including their Summer Concert Series. As a non-profit organization, it depends on memberships, program fees as well as private donations to support annual operations. Main entrances include Lake Haigler, Adventure Road and the Dairy Barn, all of which provide additional information and trail maps.
