Can you believe a major movie studio is in the planning stage for York County? We learned more about the Catawba Studios project at the Loom Media and the Mill event in July.
The new studio is planned to be constructed in the Catawba Indian Nation in Rock Hill. Patti Mercer interviewed Bert Hesse, CEO of Studio South, to find out more.
Catawba Studios will revitalize and expand the Catawba Indian Nation brand worldwide while providing jobs, education and training in the film and entertainment industry to not only the tribal members, but residents of the surrounding communities.
Patti also interviewed partners of the Phete Foundation who will help with jobs, education, and more once the studios begin construction in late 2016.
