Dancing With The Stars Fort Mill Fundraiser 2018

It’s the 6th Dancing With The Stars Fort Mill Fundraiser to benefit Fort Mill School sports programs. This year’s event is February 10th, 2018 at the Tega Cay Glennon Center. Talk of the Town Carolinas host Patti Mercer interviewed Co-Chair Lisa McCarley and Celia McCarter, Dance Center USA’s professional dancers Gabriela Sevillano and Dmitriy Solomakha and 2 of the 4 celebrity fundraising dancers Lu Aiken and Michelle Kuhn to get the details on this year’s DWTS-FM.

Over the 5 years, Dancing With The Stars Fort Mill through event tickets sales, Dancer vote donations, sponsorships or online auction item sales has raised over $200,000. The raised funds has made a difference in the Fort Mill School District middle and high school athletic programs.

The Local Celebrity Dancers for 2018 are Lu Aiken, Christi DeWaele, Michelle Kuhn and Scott Patterson. The professional dance instructor partners are Gabriela Sevillano, Dmitriy Solomakha, Randy Hallner and Willie Frazier all from Dance Center USA

The event details are; each dancer performs 2 dances, one standard ballroom and one freestyle, max 2 1/2 minutes for each dance. There will be a Dancing Champion based on judges scores and an Overall Champion based on fundraising votes (donations and ticket sales), crowed appeal and dancing points.

You can vote online by making a donation for a dancer prior to the event. You can purchase tickets for the event online. VIP tickets are $100 each and include cocktail hour, dinner, dessert and reserved seating for the show. Show only tickets are $50.00. So to sum it up, event fundraising comes from program ad sales, ticket sales, donations from online and onsite dancer voting. There’s also an online silent auction.

The? Dance Competition has two awards Dance Champion and Grand Champion. The dancer with the highest judges dance scores and best crowd appeal wins the Dance Champion award. The Grand Champion is picked based on overall dance scores, crowd appeal, and highest fundraising efforts

After the show, guests get to shake their booties during the Dance Party!
