Fort Mill Is The Home To A Semi-Pro Basketball Team Called The Primetime Players

Fort Mill, SC is the home of a 6 time minor league championship basketball team. The Primetime Players Basketball team took part in the Mt. Hebron Dreamkeepers Optimist Club 5th Annual Exhibition Game at Saluda Trail Middle School on February 17th. Talk of the Town Carolinas interviewed Primetime Players Basketball Coach Chris Thomas and Mt. Hebron Dreamkeepers Optimist Club President Charles Robinson to find out more about the team and the fundraising event.

The PrimeTime Players are an independent minor league basketball team and founding member of the East Coast Basketball League (ECBL). The team and organization have a 20+ year history playing in various leagues and tournaments and have advanced playing careers at home and abroad. The have won six consecutive champions between the Tobacco Road Basketball League (2012-2014) and East Coast Basketball League (2015-2017). The team plays its home games at Banks Street Gym in Fort Mill, SC.

The Mt. Hebron Dreamkeepers Optimist Club hosted the 5th annual exhibition game between the PrimeTime Players and the York County Community All-Stars, a lineup of well-known local players, including several former high-school stars. Proceeds from the benefit supported the Optimist club programs, including YES (Youth Empowerment Service) Mentoring, research to find a cure for Childhood Cancer, and Alzheimer’s disease, as well as other Optimist International initiatives.
