The Fort Mill Middle School Athletic Booster Club hosted their third annual 5K race at Walter Elisha Park in Fort Mill. The called Fort Mill Middle School’s Run 5 to Keep Sports Alive! was held on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 9 am to raise funds the athletic department. This event was a huge success 3 years in a row. Talk of the Town host Patti Mercer interviewed Principal Greg Norton, Assistant Principal Tony Caricari, Booster Board President Julie Richardson and Board Member Trina Strawhorn. Patti also interviewed special guest Denver Broncos Defensive End Vance Walker who graduated Fort Mill Middle and High school.
The Booster club said in their FB picture post… “Great day today at our 3rd annual FMMS 5K “Running Five to Keep Sports Alive!” We had Vance Walker, FMMS alum and Super Bowl Champion in attendance again this year! Thanks to all our runners, volunteers, students and the community for coming out to Support this great cause!”
