The Talk of the Town crew went to the Fort Mill School District office and spoke to Fort Mill Schools Chief Information Officer Joe Burke about Fort Mill Schools back to school plan. About 70 percent of the students have registered to physically go back to school in the classrooms while 30 percent of the students will take part in the virtual learning plan. We asked Joe many detailed questions about the plan including teachers, buses, sports, classroom safety, and more. Here is a list of the questions we asked:
Last Spring did you ever think in August we would be having this conversation about how back to school will look like in the fall?
What is the Fort Mill School plan moving forward so that it can be a safe environment?
Since 30 percent of the students selected for virtual learning, will that make the in-classroom social distancing more do-able?
Is the A and B model for an entire school year?
What safety practices are you expected to follow?
How are the teachers feeling about being back in the classroom?
When is the first day of school?
Where can people go to get more information about the Fort Mill school back to school program?
What do students do if they come to school without a mask?
Has the transportation plan changed?
What about sports and after school activities?
