Let’s Talk About The 2017 SC Strawberry Festival

The 2017 South Carolina Strawberry Festival, although part of the week was plagued with rain, was a huge success. The annual SC Strawberry Festival based in Fort Mill, SC welcomes spring with week-long events like a golf tournament, Pick-n-Flick, and the Strawberry Festival Pageant and the main festival event on Friday and Saturdays.

Talk of the Town Carolinas went to this year’s Saturday main event to recap the festival with interviews of attendees, Strawberry Queens, and festival officials. Interviewees include CJ Godlewski – Festival Director, Caroline Hasty – Town of Fort Mill Media & Events Coordinator Festival, Brown Simpson – Town of Fort Mill Parks & Rec Director, Holly McDade – Activities/Amusements Lead, Wink Rea – Entertainment Director, Sal Salvatore – Vendor Lead, Mike Maynard – Marketing to name a few. We asked several attendees, how do you lime to eat strawberries? Check out their answers.

SC Strawberry Festival activities include a Kids Zone with rides and activities, live entertainment at the Strawberry Jam, Pick-n-Flick, recipe contests, strawberry shortcake and ice cream eating contests, pig races, food from 30 local and regional vendors, 141 arts, crafts, and business vendors and a car show. The festival ends on Saturday night with an amazing fireworks display!

Conveniently located 15 miles south of Charlotte and an hour north of Columbia, the South Carolina Strawberry Festival is a regional celebration of all things strawberry!
