Plan On Attending The Taste Of Fort Mill

The Annual Taste of Fort Mill charity event is a culinary feast featuring dishes from 20 local restaurants This year’s event is April 28th, 2017 at the Springfield Golf Club Pavilion in Fort Mill, SC. The event raises funds to support the Palmetto School at the Children?s Attention Home in Rock Hill, SC.

Talk of the Town Patti Mercer interviewed Taste of Fort Mill event founder Cindy Kelly and event chairman Dan Wilde to find out more about the annual event and the Palmetto School.

The Taste of Fort Mill is held the last Friday evening in April. with hosts up to 500 guests, ticket holders enjoy gourmet tastings, a silent auction, and dancing under the stars

Approximately 90 percent of the Funds raised each year go to The Palmetto School at the Children?s Attention Home. The Palmetto School serves children in K ? 8th grade who have been brought into DSS protective custody due to abuse, neglect, abandonment or homelessness.

So far over $400,000 have been raised to date. Funds provided the Palmetto School with:
– a third classroom
– Maintain a research-based level literacy intervention program.
– Increased the transportation fleet
– Install a Healing Garden designed by the children.
