Southern Sugar Caf? In Fort Mill Is Now Open

The New Southern Sugar Caf? is a boutique bakery, espresso and wine bar in the heart of downtown Main street Fort Mill, South Carolina in the Old Centre Theater building. Southern Sugar had a Grand Opening party Friday, March 23, 2018. Talk of the Town host Patti Mercer interviewed husband and wife owner’s Chris and Courtney Thompson to find out more about the new taste of the south called Southern Sugar.

Once the main movie theater in Fort Mill, a portion of the old Centre Theater building has been transformed into a casual upscale caf? dining space. The caf? renovation was designed by owner Courtney to give customers a relaxed southern luxury feel with chic drapery, comfortable chairs, crystal chandeliers and more. The old concession stand is now a wine room that can seat 16 people.

Guests can sip on cocktails or wine at the Martini Bar. They can enjoy specialty coffees from the coffee bar. You’ll find sweet treats like coconut macaroons, red velvet cupcakes, cranberry almond bars, the bakery?s award-winning biscuits (butter or jalapeno cheddar), croissants, scones all made in-house. In addition to sweet treats from the bakery, you’ll find cheese boards, charcuterie platters and the Southern Sugar Biscuit Platter, with strawberry jam, whipped butter and honeycomb, flatbreads, and sliders. Looking for a Sunday brunch? The brunch menu includes scrambled egg tacos, savory chicken and waffles and the house benedict ? a poached egg with jalapeno bacon, hollandaise and a Southern Sugar butter biscuit.

Southern Sugar is open Monday-Thursday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.; and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with brunch from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.? More at southernsugarcafe.com.
