The new 25 acre Southtown Wake Park is officially open after their Grand Opening and ribbon cutting ceremony Saturday May 5th, 2018. Talk of the Town Carolinas headed to their location in south Rock Hill South Carolina to find out more about the cable pull wake park. Host Patti Mercer interviewed one of the owners Beth Ellis, Instructor Tyler Holloman, WSIA Executive Director Kevin Michael, and SouthTown Riders Director Graham Siemon.
Beth Ellis said the opening of Southtown was Park is a dream come true. Located at 255 E. Rambo Road Rock Hill, SC was once a cotton field which is now a cable pull wake park with 2 lakes. One lake is for beginners. The 2nd lake is more advanced wakeboard enthusiasts. Instead of being pulled by a boat, at the park, wakeboarders are pulled with a cable system mounted on overhead towers.
Southtown Wake Park uses operational and safety guidelines, rules and procedures developed by the Waster Sports Industry Association. More at?www.wsia.net
The wake park offers lessons to all levels of riders from the youngest beginner to the advanced riders. Weekly full day camps will offer a fun and encouraging atmosphere for youth to learn how to wakeboard.? Visitors can relax in lounge chairs on the edge of the lake or paddle around on our paddle boards and kayaks.
