The 5th annual Taste of Fort Mill was a huge success. The event was Friday April 28, 2017 at the Springfield Country Club. Over 550 tickets were sold within a week, so over 550 people attended the event plus volunteers and restaurant staff.
The purpose of the Taste of Fort Mill event is to raise money for the Palmetto School at the Children?s Attention Home in Rock Hill, SC. Preliminary info posted April 29th on the Taste of Fort Mill?s Facebook page indicated the auction and the raffle, raised over $20,000 on its own which does not include ticket sales, sponsorships and donations.
Talk or The Town Carolinas was at the event and Patti interviewed Dr. Hugh Wilson the Executive Director & Principal, The Palmetto School, Event founder Cindy Kelly, The Palmetto School Board Chairman Phillip Stevens, WRHI Radio Co-owner Manning Kimmel, State Representative Raye Felder, attendees, and many of the restaurant or food staff.
