The City of Tega Cay?s Living Memorial Gardens is a beautiful public garden displaying seasonal flowers, foliage and trees along its meandering sidewalks and natural pathways. It is designed to be accessible by all who visit.
The Garden’s idea was conceived in 2010 and opened in May 2011. The Beautification Committee of Tega Cay with the support of the City of Tega Cay, volunteers and donors design and built the Gardens. In November 2016, Carmen Miller of the Miller Realty Group donated a gazebo which was one of the remaining desired?features. The Beautification Committee held a ribbon cutting ceremony to officially welcome and open the gazebo.
Talk of the Town host Patti Mercer interviewed Beautification Committee members Patty Martin, Phillip Snelling, Michele McGuire, and city officials George Sheppard, and Dottie Hersey.
The Gardens are also a place where persons, organizations, First Responders and U.S. Veterans have a place to be honored and memorialized especially?on Memorial and Veteran’s Day. Whether gazing at the butterflies, listening to the gentle sounds of birds, breathing in the many fragrances, swinging in the shade, reading a book in the gazebo, or exploring the Veterans Memorial Garden, the Living Memorial Gardens in Tega Cay is truly a place for all. The garden is open every day of the year from dawn until dusk.
