On October 13th, 2018 Earth Fare, a health food grocery store chain opened their 47th store, which is located in Fort Mill, SC. Talk of the Town Carolinas host Patti Mercer toured the new 24,000 square foot store with Earth Fare?s spokesperson Laurie Aker to find out what is different about this grocery store.
Earth Fare began in Asheville, NC in 1975 and was called ?Dinner for the Earth?. Initially, Dinner for the Earth offered organic dried bulk foods in wood barrels and wellness products. In The 90?s they changed their name to Earth Fare and began an expansion program. Today?s Earth Fare concept is to offer ?healthy food for everyone?. Earth Fare?s Food philosophy ensures that all products sold are free of high fructose corn syrup, artificial fats and trans-fats, artificial colors, artificial preservatives, artificial sweeteners, bleached or bromated flour, and are never administered antibiotics or growth hormones.
The new 24,000 square foot Fort Mill, SC Earth Fare location is in the newly developed Mills Crossing on highway 160 near Dave Gibson Blvd. The store officially opened Saturday, October 13th, 2018 and is open 7 days a week from 7 am to 11 pm. The store created approx 106 jobs. Earth Fare claims the Fort Mill location buys from over 40 local vendors/suppliers.
