Kent Olson of Development Solutions Group is planning a 400 home mixed use development called Windhaven located on the north side of Tega Cay Drive in York County. He has asked Tega Cay to annex the property and approve his plan.

Talk of th Town Fort Mill Tega Cay went to the Monday March 21st, 2016 Tega Cay City Council meeting to document the latest facts about the proposed Windhaven development. ?The City Council in a vote 3 to 2 passed the first reading of the annexation ordinance of Windhaven. See interviews with city council members Ryan Richard, Jennifer Stalford, and Dottie Hersey. You’ll also hear from the developer Kent Olson, and Tega Cay residents who spoke to the council about their thoughts on the proposed annexation.

Facts on the Tega Cay City Website:

The Windhaven Development received initial approval from City Council on March 21, 2016.? Once completed, the development will consist of 122+?acres containing up to 400 homes (mix of single family homes, town homes and age-targeted patio homes), 7 acres of commercial space (approximately 150,000 sq. ft.), 34 acres for a new middle school and 20+?acres for a park.? In-lieu of building one of the required amenities for the development, the developer has also agreed to donate a minimum of $400,000 to the city for the development of the recreational property.? If the development reaches final approval at the April Regular Council meeting, construction would begin in mid to late 2017 with the first home being constructed in the first quarter of 2018.? At completion, this development will also include the extension of Hubert Graham Way up to Dry Run which connects to Zoar Rd.

In the city’s report, you will find tax revenue scenarios showing the proposed tax revenue if the city annexes the development including scenarios showing where the city tax mileage rate would have been if past annexations did not happen.
